April 23rd, 2008 by Art

Young gamers have earned a reputation as glazed-eyed couch potatoes, shunning the outdoors and any physical activities in order to stay in front of their video games, aiming for the ever elusive high score, victory over rival clans, or discovering the secret keys to the supreme kingdom.

Well, once again, here comes the Nintendo Wii to the rescue with the WiiFit, scheduled for release on May 19.

The WiiFit is a medium sized balance board that is pressure sensitive that allows various exercise options, under the eye of a virtual trainer.  Using the Wiifit, one can do workouts like pushups, yoga, and even virtual hula hoops.  One can also become a sports persona, for example a Soccer Goalie blocking shots with your head, do some dance step routines.

The WiiFit has a suggested retail of $89.99.
